Space Leasing International (SLI), an aerospace subsidiary of Libra Group ↗, owns and leases assets critical to the space industry.
Our unwavering vision is to accelerate the space industry, propelling it to new heights and captivating humanity with its boundless possibilities.
SLI provides public and private sector customers with an attractive alternative to buying and financing the purchase of capital-intensive assets used in space.
Through providing flexible end-to-end leasing options, SLI will allow manufacturers and operators of space assets to grow to scale, managing innovator risk and building a strong ecosystem of companies that create products needed to reach the vast potential of the global space economy.
The global space industry has seen rapid growth over the last decade. The growth of the space sector catalyzes growth in other global sectors such as energy, telecommunication, transport, maritime, and urban development, and is a critical tool to combat climate change.
SLI is the only leasing company investing in full range space assets that will allow its customers to access today and tomorrow's space economy.
SLI bridges the gap between manufacturers and operators of space assets to navigate the rapidly-changing space economy.
SLI plays a crucial part in enabling lessees to focus on customer acquisition and delivering exceptional end-user experiences. SLI's business approach aligns with Libra Group's subsidiaries in aviation and maritime, strengthening its position as a trusted partner across diverse sectors.
Democratize access to reach the potential of tomorrow's space economy
The space economy offers aspiring stakeholders world-shaking potential in every direction. Commercial opportunities in space continue to expand as costs come down. However, deep tech, especially space tech, remains prohibitively capital intensive. Which is why, until 2010, space as an industry was dominated by government actors.
Similar to innovations in maritime and aviation, we found that the creators of assets used to build the space economy need capital to bring these innovations to market. Using our experience pioneering leasing in other sectors, SLI aims to bridge that gap and to accelerate the creation of a full space economy.
The companies we work with are passionate about space technology as a critical new frontier with the potential to transform multiple industries for the better. We are humbled by their dedication to harness the power of space to revolutionize how we communicate, navigate, and gather information - and are proud to play a role in helping them accelerate their growth.
SLI’s first partnership, made with RBC Signals, includes a ground station in the geo-spatially critical Alaskan Arctic - vital for polar orbits that monitor climate change - and the construction and acquisition of 20 additional ground stations around the world. RBC Signals is an innovative provider of global satellite data communication products and solutions. It offers secure space communication solutions in every major frequency band utilizing a worldwide network of both company-owned and business partner-owned systems.
